Amber Benson is an American actress, director, and producer. She was best known as Tara Maclay in the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She has also produced, directed and starred her own movies Chance as well as Lovers Liars & Lunatics. Additionally, she was Bride in Kiss the Bride movie. Benson was born January 8 1977 in Birmingham Alabama the daughter of Diane Benson and Edward Benson a psychiatrist. Benson has a younger sister Danielle, who works as an artist. Her father is Jewish as is her mom. She born and raised in the state of Alabama. Southern Baptist Benson grew up attending the Reform synagogue located in Alabama. Benson appeared on Morganville The Series and in The Killing Jar since Buffy's closing.
