Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for more than 20 years. She is the author of fifteen books. She is also the co-founder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a TV host, journalist writer, philanthropist, and philanthropist for more than ten years. She also is the owner of The Huffington Post, an independent, liberal online newsmagazine. After moving to England from Greece at the age of 16 She earned an MA with a major in Economics from Cambridge University. As the first foreign student to be elected president in the famous debate club The Cambridge Union, at 21 years old she took on the role. After graduation she made her name as an editorialist for the conservative syndicate as well as with the introduction of The Huffington Post' few years later, she developed an online voice portal which gave critical opinions regarding the state of affairs. The fame of Arianna helped in attracting several famous contributors. Arianna became famous after she decided in 2003 to stand as an independent candidate for the California Recall Election to replace former Governor Davis. She was also involved in the Detroit-based initiative that advocated for cars that are fuel efficient. In 2009 she was named by Forbes as the most influential women in the media, achieving 12th place on the listing and the following year, the Guardian included her in the top 100 list of media. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her president of the media group, which also included the other AOL brands like Engadget AOL Music Style list and Patch Media. She was the daughter of journalist and management consultant Konstantinos along with his partner Elli Stasinopoulos. They were very close to her father. But it was the relationship she had with her mother that has shaped her. Even during her formative years, she exhibited the qualities of a leader for which her name is still well-known. When she was 16 she relocated to the United Kingdom to pursue her study and then enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. In college, she was a member of the Cambridge Union, a college debating club. The third female president and the first foreigner she served as the head for the Cambridge Union. In 1972 she received an honorary degree in Economics. Her career as an anchor and reporter began after she graduated. In addition, she was a part of the show Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books, utilizing editorial guidance from Bernard Levin.
