Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19, 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn. to a family of 12 poor children that would be raised in the same household, figured out very early on how to conquer of difficulties with her incredibly vivid imagination. Prior to learning how to write and read Dolly Parton had already begun to compose her own music. When she was 8years old, she purchased the first electric guitar she owned and began to sing at the Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. Gold Band Records is a small label that is independent. Although she became a local star while in High School, she knew her dreams were bigger. After graduating high school in 1964 she moved straight to Nashville. Her first charting records with Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. Around this time, Porter Wagoner was looking for a new girl singer for his syndicated television show. Parton joined Grand Ole Opry 1969 after contracting with RCA Records. But she resigned from the show in 1974 when her solo releases such as Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene had begun charting their collaborative efforts. Parton recorded I Will Always Love You to Wagoner after their breakup. It made it to No. In 1974, the song by Parton"I Will Never Love You climbed to the No.
